Beginning her career in fashion forward Los Angeles, California, Theresa worked as a hair and makeup artist both in the salon as well as on location. She has aquired experience creating looks for film, editorial, and fashion photography. After nine years of living in LA, Theresa moved to Austin where she became a new member of the José Luis Salon in 2006 and joined the floor of elite stylists after 8 months of intense training directly under José.
Winning high honors in the global Shu Uemura Iron Design Challenge, Theresa quickly became recognized for her creativity and technical precision in all aspects of her craft. Well known for her professional makeup and intricate hair, Theresa also specializes in hair cutting, color, and the French balayage technique. She is an expert on “listening to her clients,” not only giving them what they want, but what looks best.
She is a firm believer in continuing education and has broadened her knowledge at the Shu Uemura Essential design Atelier and L’oreal Soho Academy in New York City and The Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica. She has also attended the Oribe Atelier at Oribe Salon in Miami and various workshops in New York City. In 2010 Theresa was nominated as one of the top 5 "Best Hairstylist in Austin".
As Creative Director for the salon, she has had the opportunity to work at New York Fashion Week with designers Jason Wu, SUNO, Jill Stuart, Rodarate, Philip Lim, Theyskens' Theory, Harare and Ostwald Helgason. She also had the opportunity to style such celebrities as Ramon Rodriguez, Mark Paul Gosselaar, Breckin Meyer, Paul DiGiovanni and local celebrity Deb O'Keefe. You can find her work published in Austin Wedding Day magazine, Ragged Magazine, Bliss Bridal, TriBeza Magazine and Modern Salon Magazine to name a few.
Theresa's style and execution always have a sophistication hinted with a taste of Hollywood making her an essential part of the José Luis Salon team.
